Labor Day weekend is nearly approaching and it's always such an exciting time of the year.
Aside from celebrating patriotism, Labor Day also gives us the chance to enjoy the last weekend of summer with outdoor activities, barbecues and pool parties.
If you're staying local for the three-day weekend and feeling ambitious enough to host an event, invite your friends over and follow these fun party planning tips!
Decorate your backyard
Throw a party in the comfort of your own home! Make your backyard "pop" by simply incorporating the colors red, white and blue. We love the idea of adding simple string lights, balloons, candles and streamers.

Have a cookout (and some dessert too)
Bring on the (veggie) hot dogs, hamburgers and sangrias! It's the perfect time to spend a good o’l outdoor barbecue with your favorite peeps. At the end of your meal, surprise your guests with a creative dessert dish like the one seen below.
Who says playtime is just for kids? Gather your group of friends to actively participate in relay races, scavenger hunts, balloon toss and card games (Kings Cup, anyone?) where everyone can laugh and enjoy! Prizes can include a gift card, a pack of candy, and who doesn't love a summery scented Bijou candle?
