4 Ways to Practice Self-Care

Daily work grinds, endless errands, maintaining close relationships, keeping up with the news — we’re getting stressed just thinking about it! Oftentimes, we’re so preoccupied on a daily basis that we often lose sight of what's ultimately important: taking care of ourselves.

Whether you're a mother, a CEO or full-time student, that do-it-all attitude is key — but it's also important to remember to take a step back and practice self-care.

If you’re ever feeling overwhelmed by the world, here are a few tips on how to make self-care a priority.

1. Take a soul-inspiring vacation

Travel someplace new that will help you recharge and regain a positive outlook in life. Try a yoga retreat in Bali, or take up surfing in Costa Rica. Focus your mind, body and soul on a new activity in a different setting that will help you feel stronger and relieve all stressors, so you can come back refreshed and ready to take on the world. 2. Clear-your-head activity

You don’t have to travel a thousand minds to unplug. Sometimes, all it takes is a simple activity to help you “check out” from reality for a bit, with absolutely no distractions. Try guided meditation or breathing exercises, or make an effort to dedicate at least one hour a day to a ‘no phone zone’ activity, like using adult coloring books. It’s a quick and easy way to soothe all that stress and anxiety.

3. Light your favorite candles and take a looong bubble bath

There's nothing like coming home from a long day to a nice, long bubble bath.
