It's finally here! The first day of fall, aka Mabon, aka the Autumnal Equinox! A day of many names and one we look forward to every year. Day and night are equal and we are encouraged to seek harmony and give thanks for what we have.
There are many rituals used to celebrate the Autumnal Equinox, here are some of our favorites:
Seek Balance
With day and night on equal footing we are urged to find balance within ourselves. Light a candle with a well rounded, soothing scent blend and spend sometime in quiet meditation with a focus on finding balance. We are using our Willow • Palo Santo Tall Votive Candle for this. Bright notes of citrus-y Palo Santo are mellowed with soft, smoky woods.
Give Gratitude
Traditionally thanks were given to Mother Earth for a fruitful harvest in hopes that it would last through the winter months. In today's times, we are reminded to give gratitude for all that we have. Taking inspiration from apple harvests, we will be lighting our juicy red apple blend, the Elvira • Poison Apple Votive Candle, and making a list of all that we are grateful for. This is a great list to keep as a reminder as the days grow shorter and colder.
Honor Nature
Take time to slow down, unplug, and enjoy some (finally) cooler weather. Go to a local park, hiking trail or even your back yard. Take note of how much calmer you feel surrounded by nature. Find a small token of nature that you can bring home with you (i.e. a rock, a pinecone, an acorn, etc.). Set up an autumnal alter with a candle and your token. We're using our Hermione • Cedar Thyme Classic Candle – woodsy notes of cedar, sandalwood and pine blend with herbal thyme to remind us of a New England campfire. Whenever you feel you need to reconnect with the calm energy of nature, light your candle and hold your token.
Prepare Your Home
As we ready ourselves for the cozier months spent indoors, this is the perfect time to cleanse your home. This can be both literal and energetically. Put away summer clothes and unpack those sweaters. Hang up a festive wreath and break out some energy cleansing candles. We absolutely love to cleanse with our Stevie • White Sage & Neroli Tall Votive Candle – notes of earthy sage and energizing neroli help promote positive energy and focus.
Celebrate The Season
Many of us wait all year for the fall's nostalgic and cozy vibes. For those that want a more energetic celebration of the harvest season, throw yourself a little party! Get some seasonal snacks (apple cider donuts for us, please!), put on your favorite spooky season music or movies (check out our faves here!), and light a candle that elevates your mood. Our Morticia • Rose & Thorns Votive Candle brings the party with notes of dewy rose petal, uplifting mandarin peel, and a sensual base of amber and musk.
Rose not your thing? Try our Sabrina • Patchouli & Bergamot Tall Votive Candle – not only does this candle look perfect for a fall themed party, but with notes of zesty bergamot, blood orange, and a magical incense blend, you're transported directly to Salem on All Hallow's Eve!
Happy Fall, Candle Coven!

I cannot stress enough what high quality these candles are. The scents are well balanced and not over powering, but so lush and beautiful. The jars they come in are aesthetically as beautiful as the scents they hold. I purchased Morticia and Cher and I’m in scented heaven.
