This super new moon is the closest of the year and falls in Libra. We are reminded to keep the Libra qualities of balance and justice at the forefront of our minds for this new moon. What helpful things can we bring into our lives, what can we be grateful for that we already have, and what changes do we need to make? This new moon has the answers.
Super new moons bring out intense energies and we may find ourselves feeling drained and confused. This new moon will urge us to restore balance to our lives and look inward for discovery on how to do this. This is slightly more difficult because both Mars and Mercury are in retrograde, which can leave us feeling frustrated and uncertain, but as the new moon signifies the just beginning of a cycle, we have time to work on opening ourselves up to trusting our intuition.
Our New Moon Ritual
Step 1: Open Up
We want to create an environment that allows our minds to be open so we can seek balance. Our minds work best when we are in a place where we feel creative and free of obstacles standing in our way. As this particular new moon might bring some drama with it, this can make it hard to feel balanced.
To get ourselves into the right mindset, we are taking the time to clear out any clutter or things that might be making us feel anxious. An orderly space can often help keep the mind focused. We are also very specifically burning the Stevie • White Sage & Neroli candle for this ritual. The white sage has been known to help improve intuition, while neroli is known for helping to reduce stress and anxiety.
Step 2: Meditate
If you've never meditated before, there is no time like the Libra new moon to start. Mediation can help reduce stress levels, improve focus, restore balance, and help you to investigate your innermost thoughts and feelings.
We recommend wearing cozy clothes and sitting comfortably in an upright position in a space where you will be undisturbed. Try meditating for just a few minutes to start. Sit in silence with your eyes closed and focus on your breathing and motivation – to seek balance.
As you notice your mind wandering, bring the attention back to the breath. This practice will help you become more mindful and open.
Step 3: Stay Mindful
Once you're done mediating, bring your awareness with you in everything you do. What emotions and thoughts came up during your meditation? This is something to explore during this moon cycle. Practice meditating once a day for a few minutes and gradually increase as you get more comfortable. This act of mindfulness is especially helpful in keeping you present, focused and calm during stressful or uncertain situations.
Integrating a meditation practice into your daily routine will also help to strengthen your trust in your intuition and promote balance. This focus will help you to navigate through this uncertain phase and find the answers needed to keep you feeling well and balanced.
